You see the thing is New Labour or as i like to call them conservatives with a small c.Today Harriet whoever comes out with the policy of positive discrimination but however fails to mention how this will impact on parliament,as at the moment the only truly unrepresentative work place is Westminster,How many Ethnic minority members of the cabinet are there?As usual the New labour policies sound really good but in reality are just spin and although it sounds great,it's just another load of hot air.Like the green debate,now i'am personally very green,but targets and policies that sound good are usually tax raising measures wrapped up in Green clothes.Now the government targets sound good but in reality are a number that by hook or by crook will be attained by some new way of calculating the figures.
For example crime is down,yet the Prisons are full to bursting and more people are being stabbed than i can ever remember.MRSA and C.diff in hospitals is down,all they do is cook the figures to look like it is.Education,Education,Education,not if you are poor.Standards are up,so how come Literacy and Numeracy lessons are put on in universities because students need help.All league tables do is make schools look good,they don't have to actually be good,just look good.All Labour is really is a shoddy government only concerned with their own appearance.But dig into their substance and there isn't a lot there.
Take for instance the assets recovery Dept set up with such a fanfare it cost £60m to set up and got back £8m,The CSA was a shambles from the beginning and became a joke,Nhs finance in chaos,you see when hospitals get in trouble they lay off nurses to save money then wonder why all the nurses go to Australia.Iraq is basically chaotic,because the only places that are important are the oil fields and the Green Zone.Afghanistan is an unwinnable war in this generation,we tied it in the 1880's and failed the Russians tried it in the 1980's and failed,so why do we think we can win it?we go on about just wars what about Darfur,Zimbabwe,n.Korea,Burma and Tibet?are they not just as important?Not only that our troops are being killed by roadside bombs because we ask them to travel round in un-armoured snatch landrovers,The S.African army invented the perfect vehicle the Casper APC to negate the effects of mines and bombs so why do we allow our troops inadequate protection,Money i would imagine.The Government says it takes the security of our armed forces seriously then actually does the opposite,or do they just mis-speak?
